In The Afternoon

Here is a quick dialogue that I just overheard from a kid and a mother. The kid, probably around 3 or 4 years old watched his mother hold his little brother's hand in an upright position, they were all steps above a grass block area in front of this coffee shop where I just arrived.

Kid: "Why you're holding him like that?"

Mom: "Is to teach your brother how to walk by himself" his little brother is probably almost one year's old.

Kid: "Ohh, Just like me ya mom? I can walk on this grass well" He said lightly while performing a little run proudly in front of them.

Mom: "Yes, dear, but your brother cannot just yet" They both a little yelled at each other to talk over the cry from the little one. (He seemed to hate to be held like that, and wiggled uncomfortably)

Kid: "So, when is he gonna be able to walk on the grass? and also to walk on the water?"

Mom: "What? he can't. I also can't walk on the water, and you also can't" Answered the mom while laughing.

I met eyes with the mother and we laughed together.

I always thought that children think in mysterious ways. Mostly silly thoughts but at the same time magical, don't you think? They are so simple and yet so complicated. They are original and that what's I love about conversing with them. They are not trying to tell you things to make them sound smart. They do not try to impress anyone, They really listen and wait until you finish your sentence. They really listen without constantly thinking about how to respond.

People normally think that I hate kids when I say that I don't want to have children. But it is because I love them so much I don't want any probability of any wrongdoings parents can do to their child.

Look at that, after months of not posting, that short conversation between a kid and a mother is just something I have to replay in writing. Good day! and also, I'm living in Bali, AGAIN. it has been 4 months, and I will come back to write more here.
